Marek Bakota
Marek is a classical and jazz pianist with a First Class Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Manchester, where he was awarded the Procter-Gregg Prize for Performance for his second-year recital and received the Faculty of Humanities Undergraduate Dean's Award for Achievement for graduating in the top 0.5% of his graduating year. At university, Marek performed widely as a soloist and ensemble member, playing in the university Symphony Orchestra, Big Band, and Baroque Orchestra. On top of this, he accompanied many vocal rehearsals, conducting classes, and recitals, took part in masterclasses, including one with university String Quartet in Residence Quatuor Danel, and performed in many music society lunchtime concerts. As a winner of the Manchester University Music Society Concerto Competition 2025-26, he also had the opportunity to perform Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Manchester University Symphony Orchestra in December 2025. Passionate about piano playing and music theory, Marek is very excited to share his knowledge and love of music with others.
